Diabetic foot care: nursing care in the family health strategy - an integrative literature review

Diabetic foot is one of the most important outcomes of diabetes and contributes to loss of functional capacity, among other damages to affected patients, being also costly to the health system. The objective of this study is to identify how the current scientific literature has described nursing actions in the care of diabetic foot patients in the Family Health Strategy. Methodology: It was an integrative review of literature, since this allows to summarize the research already completed and to obtain conclusions from a topic of interest. The results were divided into two categories: actions performed by the Family Health Strategy nurse in the care of the individual with diabetic foot and factors that contribute to and / or hamper the implementation of the actions of diabetic Foot care by the nurse. Conclusion: the work of nurses as educators with a view to stimulating behavioral changes in the patient and involving their families in the responsibility for the care of their feet. Such initiatives make it possible to meet the demands of individuals in the different sociocultural contexts in the perspective of health promotion.
