The objective of this study was to evaluate the adhesion to protocols for the prevention of skin lesions like (pressure ulcer, skin tear and incontinence associated dermatitis), through the systematization of nursing care and knowledge of the nursing team, patient and caregiver about these protocols. This is a retrospective, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, performed at a cancer hospital. The data used was provided from an audit process of the Department of Hospital Quality, from 2015 to 2016. 170 evaluation forms corresponding to three audits were accessed: 136 (80%) of non-critical patient units and 34 (20%) non-critical patient units. in critical patient units. The management of the protocols showed to be evolutionary in the periods of the audits, the pressure ulcers have a more efficient managed protocol and the preventive measures have been assertive. During the audits the critical units presented better performance in the management of the protocols and other evaluated items.
