Clinical profile of the venous ulcer holder: an integrative literature review 2010-2018

The venous ulcers represent a serious public health problem, they are responsible for significant rates of morbidity and mortality and are also the cause of prolonged injuries that require a long complex treatment. In addition to being recurrent, disabling and severely impacting the lives of patients. Objective: To identify and describe the clinical profile of patients with venous ulcers, including also the prevalence of age and sex. Methodology: Study with a descriptive approach with a qualitative aspect, such as Integrative Literature Review. Results: Through the research carried out, 22 scientific productions were selected, among them 17 scientific articles and 5 theses, addressing the clinical profile of patients with venous ulcers. Conclusion: The results of this study reinforce the predominance of venous ulcers in the female, elderly population, with associated comorbidities such as systemic arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, chronic venous insufficiency and overweight/obesity, lesions located in zone 2, for a period longer than 6 months, with a small amount of serous exudate, without odor, prevailing granulation tissue and slough.
