Abstract

Objectives: To recognize the importance of the multidisciplinary team in the approach to individuals with complex wounds in wound healing; and to map the evidence/knowledge on the topic under study. Method: A scoping review was conducted between January 4 and February 1, 2020, in the databases Scientific Open Access Repository of Portugal (RCAAP), EBSCOhost (CINAHL and Medline), and Web of Science, using search strategies adapted to each database. Results and Discussion: Scientific evidence demonstrates the importance of multidisciplinary teams in the approach to individuals with complex wounds. Conclusion: As this is a complex process, it is essential to consider all elements that influence and delay healing to improve treatment outcomes and reduce associated costs.
