Abstract

To describe the experience and reflections of a nurse resident
during an internship in Home Care, with an emphasis on nursing procedures

and continuing education. Method: This is an experience report from the in-
ternship of a nurse in a Home Care and Palliative Care Unit. Results and

Discussion: Two chapters were written describing nursing procedures used in
the context of Home Care, mainly subcutaneous infusion and wound dressing

for oncological lesions, as well as Continuing Health Education activities on to-
pics such as functional assessment in Palliative Care and bioethics at the end

of life. Final Considerations: This article highlighted the need to adapt
some nursing procedures for application in Home Care and emphasized the
importance of Continuing Health Education for improving home care services.
